David Cronenberg writes and directs this surreal sci-fi drama inspired by the life and writings of William S. Burroughs. William Lee (Peter Weller) works as an exterminator and is running out of bug killer. When he discovers that his wife Joan (Judy Davis) has been injecting it as a drug, he decides to try it for himself and begins to hallucinate. Losing all sense of reality, he is soon taking orders from giant bugs and a talking typewriter. Ian Holm also stars.
