Australian musical comedy drama set in the late 1960s. Based on a true story, the film follows a group of four young Aboriginal women - Kay (Shari Sebbens), Gail (Deborah Mailman), Julie (Jessica Mauboy) and Cynthia (Miranda Tapsell) - who follow their dreams to form an all-girl soul music group. Overcoming racial prejudice and the social constraints of the time, the talented foursome set off with their good-natured, slightly bumbling Irish manager Dave Lovelace (Chris O'Dowd) to entertain the American troops in Vietnam; unaware of the dangers of entering a war zone and confident that the publicity will help them on their way to worldwide fame.
