This edition accompanies OXFORD READS KAFKA, an initiative which aims to encourage the whole University and the City of Oxford to read and enjoy 'The Metamorphosis' in 2024, the centenary of Franz Kafka's death.OXFORD READS KAFKA accompanies a series of exhibitions and events organized by the Bodleian Libraries and the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford. These are centred on the exhibition 'Kafka: Making of an Icon' at the Weston Library (30 May - 27 October 2024) and at the Morgan Library and Museum, New York (22 November 2024- 13 April 2025).All readers of this book are invited to take part in discussion groups, attend lectures, readings, and public events, and access curated reading lists and other resources, including a gala public reading of 'The Metamorphosis' to be held in the Sheldonian Theatre, on 3 June 2024.
