In this season, Carrie, who now lives with her sister Maggie (Amy Hargreaves) and brother-in-law Bill (MacKenzie Astin) in Washington D.C., struggles to control her temper when Bill starts working for Carrie's administrative opponent, President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). As Carrie convinces Senator Paley (Dylan Baker) to go on record to the FBI about Keane's misconduct, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) receives an offer of a deal to be released from prison and White House Chief of Staff David Wellington (Linus Roache) proposes an air strike on a weapons convoy from Iran to Syria.
