Set in Manila, this is the story of a gay boy from a criminal family who falls in love with a policeman.12-year-old Maxi walks and sways his hips, high on life, laughing and joking with his playmates. Like any DIVA he has a wardrobe to die for - an assortment of sandals, shorts and shirts in every colour imaginable. His mum has passed away and his dad and brothers, who are devout Catholics, have turned to stealing mobile phones to earn a better living. Maxi cooks, cleans and sews for them and is their alibi when things go wrong. However it all becomes complicated when he meets and falls for an unbribeable, by-the-book rookie cop, Victor - which spells disaster for the family operations. Shot in the slums of Sampaloc, Manila, this prize-winning film has captured audiences' imaginations and hearts around the globe.
