Summary

Murder and mayhem begin innocently enough at the Rankins' cocktail party, where Gerry Barnes and his fiery red-haired girlfriend Paula Grant while away a few carefree hours. There, Gerry meets René DeFoe, who wishes to engage his services as a private investigator, for undisclosed reasons - an assignment Gerry reluctantly accepts. But the next morning, when Gerry enters his office to keep his appointment, he finds Rene murdered on the premises. He puts his own life at risk as he investigates why a corpse was made of his client.
